When last we left our brave adventurers, they were in the house of Radha in the ancient city of Redwall. 5 laides and 1 magnificently dressed man informed us that we would not be allowed to leave. The man, surprisingly, cast a fireball on us, and guess who failed a reflex save....Mattias. In a flash of fire, he found himself with neither weapon nor shield. Felicia cast flamestrike, and the might of Ithwe cleansed this world of 4 of the ladies. Aaron cast orb of fire, and the man was released from this plane. The other chick somehow died. The group then snuck their way out of Redwall and back to the forest lord's grove. From there, they led a march to the C(flower) court destroying all evil goblins and spiders that they saw. The group ported back to the Phoenix Court to refresh their supplies. Mattias bought a new shield, and it became clear that our new friend the halfling barbarian named *eyes dart* umm....Bob, shared a mindset of Del Revan when it came to conversation.
They all met again at the gate where they portalled to the crystal court. Once they found themselves on the other side of the gate, they saw a collection of wild and gray elves all with sharp and pointy things aimed in their direction. After unsuccessful attempts made by Mattias and Phillip to completely make them disavow their ways of isolationism, the group sat around a table conjured by Mattias and ate a hearty meal (Heroe's Feast mudda fukka). The group then was finally allowed to leave the court, provided that they be escorted by a rather large contingent of elves and were not permitted to do anything they weren't instructed to do.
After leaving the court, they wander until they find some huge creature that they beat the crap out of and it runs away quick. The next encounter however, was less than pleasurable. A giant Frost Worm errupts from the ground and another fight ensues. The heroes fight the monster in a gallant fight, however, upon its defeat the monster explodes. Mattias, suffering grave wounds prior to the explosion is rendered unconscious but Aaron, brave Aaron, loses his life, his fire could not quell this cold. The group gathers around and ponders what should be done, but on the following day, Mattias, saddened by his revelation, learns that Aaron does not wish to rejoin the mortal realm, and he is happy on the plane of fire. In homage to their fallen comrade the group makes a funeral pyre for their fallen friend.
The group now walks on, and in a few days, reach the Storm King's Stronghold. They decide to use pixie dust and march in. As the pixie dust wears off, they find themselves in a room opposed by the champions of the Storm King. They all have their FMV segment and give some talk. The battle ensues.
Vampires, druids, cohorts and familiars all kneel before the power of our faithful heroes, but then, as all seems well, Quint is struck down. After some more fighting, and amazing bravery, our new friend Bob, the barbarian, falls on the ground, he is dead. The group slowly but surely finishes the fight, until the frost giants falls. As his corpse falls to the floor, a ghostly figure flows out of him. It later possesses Phillip, and has to be exorcised by Mattias. As the final champion of the Storm King falls, the group realizes that they were guarding the Casket of Endless Winters. The group then uses the Brass Seal on it and successfully end the winter that had been plaguing the lands.
Next time on As the Dice Roll:
If we get back to Potter's Creek, Mattias plans on putting the Aaron's staff in his lair, and then sealing the place in order to pay further homage to his fallen comrade.
