So, are we looking at a small or tiny robot. Also, i looked over it last night, but couldnt find a weight limit for the sizes. I was guessing thats because they would be based on strength scores. The reason i ask is because with a heuristic processor, tool/probe, vocabulator (i forgot the word) its already pushing 8kg (i believe). If this is the case, and i'm envisioning something that when combat breaks out, jumps inside my backpack, well it might just break my back. I dont really know how droids would be treated as combatants because in the movies, even when the droids called attention to themselves, they were just surrounded (episode 6, when c3po and r2 distract the guards). Just a few more thoughts.

If fitting in your back pack is important, we have to stick with a tiny droid. As far as reactions to droids, remember there was just an intergalactic war against an entire droid ARMY so the reactions may be a little different than in "Jedi".
Lastly, 8k is the same weight as a bowcaster so that's not unreasonable to carry on your back.

so i'm willing to throw 20k at this thing during the year and a half that we're doing whatnot.
I think this is what we agreed on: Small (cost factor x2) Heuristic processor (2000) Hovering (6 squares: 200x2x36 = 14400) 1 kg internal storage (50 credits) Vocabulator (200) i want it to speak bothese 1 probe (to connect to a computer jack) (no idea) Improved Sensors (either 150-250)
since all this adds up to around 20k can i spend additional resources on data disks (i.e. Encarta like software)?

That works for me. I'll still have to decide about the data disks, but El-tee should be fine.
