A letter found on the counter of Trollskull tavern one morning, beneath a small bag of gold. Sparrow's "nest," should anyone investigate, is empty.
My friends,
I've never been good at long farewells, so I'll just come out and say it; I think its time for me to go. We've had some amazing adventures; I've flown on a gryphon, talked to a Beholder and made friends with a poltergeist. I've seen monsters and magic, fought a giant shark and ridden a dragon turtle up from the depths. But, if the journey beneath the ocean taught me anything, its that I don't seem to do well in small, cramped spaces, and honestly, the thought of venturing into the vast, endless underground terrifies me. My place is here, in the city, close to the sky and open air. Where I can help the small folk, the commoners and the nobodies. The people no one else notices.
I'm going to go look for Emmik, and if I can find him, see if I can help him become human again. He's been alone for so long, he needs a friend to help him get through this. I know you won't need me to go into Undermountain. Between Arenal's wisdom, Samuel's charm, Davrim's shield and Irontamer's strength, I know you'll be fine. Thank you all for the laughs, the adventure, and the opportunities. I won't forget our time together. And if you ever make it back to Waterdeep, know that I'll be here, looking out for you, even if you don't see me. Please take what I've earned and split it amongst yourselves, I won't be needing it anymore.
Until our paths cross again,
-Sparrow
P.S: Irontamer, I'm sorry that Rusty ate your tongs.
