Anyone have any thoughts on what they're playing?
Julie's first concept is a high elf Rogue with the Assassin archetype, but, you know, not in an evil kind of way. Backup is a lightly-armored fighter... sort of a swashbuckler type.
I'm leaning towards either a bard or warlock, but also like clerics if no one else wants to play one and it is needed.

I’ve been thinking Paladin.
Not my normal go-to. I can can go a different direction but I have been having trouble getting this concept out of my mind.

It's great that folks are excited about the campaign and thinking about character ideas. And I don't think anyone is actually doing what I'm about to warn against, but, just so it's out there, a cautionary note - please don't get set on any specifics until we can all sit down together for Session 0 tonight so we can collectively discuss characters and the campaign.
Also, (again, without getting set on anything specific), you may want to give some thought to backgrounds and icons and how your character will fit into the 13th Age Dragon Empire setting, not just class/race. But it's perfectly fine to wait until tonight for that, especially for folks who aren't familiar with the setting.

Dave - would it be helpful to you if we posted our characters on the boards?

Dave - would it be helpful to you if we posted our characters on the boards? I took some notes last Wednesday on the highlights, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. It would probably also be helpful for the other players to know more about their fellow party members. Any info you want to post on your characters' backgrounds, motivations, goals, etc. will give me more potential plot and role-playing hooks. It would also, I hope, give other players more potential hooks for inter-party role-playing. One reason I wanted to use the 5E system is that it's a robustly play-tested system without a lot of nooks and crannies, so I'm not very concerned with knowing everyone's exact game stats, but if anyone want to post them, it would probably help the other players get to know their fellow party members more than it would help me, but that's all to the good. Your characters are around each other a LOT more than we as players are around each other playing those characters, so they would presumably know a lot about each others' abilities.
