Backstory
Malcor, like many orphans of New Port, grew up as a ward of the Church of Light. He spent his childhood in service to the Temple, learning to honor the gods and studying the histories of the Dragon Empire. As an adolescent, he acted as an acolyte, serving the faithful on pilgrimages from New Port to Santa Cora. On one such trip, the procession was set upon while traveling through the Wild Wood. Malcor was filled with a sense of unholy dread as a horde of the dead emerged from the trees. The pilgrims and priests managed to fend off the horrors, though many lives were lost. In that moment, Malcor's life changed forever.
When he saw the undead and felt the wrongness of their presence, he knew he had found his calling. He heard the whisper of the Raven Queen deep within his soul, and her message was clear: cleanse the world of the undead curse and stand as a champion against the terror known as the Lich King. With his calling came power, as the Raven Queen's blessings flowed from Malcor's hands. He dedicated himself to the study of death and the dark magics that made the curse of unending life possible. He would use that power and turn it against those who profane the natural order.
Now Malcor stands ready. He will exterminate the undead wherever he finds them, but he understands that allies, within the Church and without, will be important if he is ever to stand a chance of challenging the Lich King. He seeks to form bonds with those who would fight against tyranny so that he may one day call upon them to aid him in his calling.
