For this game, I'm using Evil Hat's FATE RPG as the chassis, but I'm going to be making quite a few Game Dave Special Mods. The following are useful links for the basics of the FATE system: The FATE System Resource Document: I'm implementing a heavily modified homebrewed version of FATE, so only some bits of the SRD will be directly useful. Taking Action, Dice, & The Ladder: I'm using this stuff pretty much intact. Fate Points: I'm using this stuff more or less intact, although Refresh is going to be very different. Aspects & Fate Points: Aspects are one of the elements of FATE that I am modifying. I'm planning on much more concrete and pre-defined Aspects, which will work a bit differently than presented here, but the basics of Invoking and Compelling Aspects will be intact. Skills & Stunts: I'm going to be implementing a significantly different system than FATE Core's Skill list, but the basics of this system (dice roll + modifier) is going to remain intact. I'm also going to be implementing a modified version of the Stunt system, but the basics presented here will be pretty much the same. Actions & Outcomes: I'm going to be using a bit different system for some of the specifics of determining Opposition, but otherwise, I'll pretty much be using this system. Challenges, Contests, & Conflicts: I'm going to be implementing some modifications to this, particularly in dealing with foes, and how Stress and Consequences work, but, once again, a lot of the basics will carry over.

Since I started this project, Evil Hat Games introduced a new version of the rules, Fate Condensed. It makes some changes I was already using, and does some other tweaks that I like. Going forward, I'll be using Fate Condensed as the baseline. This won't actually make much difference in actual game play. BTW, as with many fine Fate products, the PDF is pay-what-you-want on several platforms, including DriveThruRPG.
