When last we left our brave adventurers, they were in the lair of the giants who were in control of the rod that the J. Ninefingers guy was asking about. The giants lay slain by our brave and mostly honorable as they decided to once again split the party and half would use Kaycen's Treeport and the others would use Leo's teleportation magic. Kaycen's group arrived fine; however, Leo sneezed while casting the spell and somehow ended up, well, not in Aes Tanaris. Compounding this issue was the fact that the imperial guards wanted the group out by the current day, but they decided to go against the wishes of the guards and wait for their compatriots. Kaycen did attempt forceful negotiations with the Ninefingers guy in order to find his lost friends, but the efforts are not worth noting. The following day, Kaycen and his group went to the tower of the magic guy and were amazed to see Leo and his group materialize at the door to the tower. They went inside and traded the horn for the rod and then left.
The group then arrived at the moathouse, and found Mattias franticly cleaning because today was the day the war council was to assemble. From Aes Garathon, the arch-cleric of Kaine was sent. Princess Valenthey represented the Phoenix Court, and Steve Frostsilver represented the dwarves of Kurok Ungor. oh yeah, Sarlock (the sucky) represented the lizardfolk. They met and exchanged formalities. The meeting's first thing of note was the plan by the arch-cleric. He said that everything east of the red river be burned to the ground and abandoned, while all the forces unite against the main front. This would crush the main forces and leave the smaller forces with no land to use. Mattias, the lizardfolk, and Max did not really enjoy this plan as it would let Potter's Creek become destroyed. The group then adjourned as the heroes wanted to come up with a single plan to counter the heavily destructive plan of the arch-cleric. It is noteworthy that all the others believed this plan to be solid.
The groups counter plan was that the elves, dwarves and humans would engage the main forces whereas the heroes would be responsible for the smaller horde. The heroes would use their magic and followers (and perhaps a horde of deathless, who knows?) to repulse the smaller force from their current path. The lizard folk and some of Mattias's temple guards would aid in the evacuation (should the worst befall our heroes) and the higher level guard would be the one that Mattias would contact to let him know that the worst has happened and to start the burn of the land back to the red river. Phillip masterfully relayed the plan, and the entire war council seemed to be in agreement that this plan could work. The war council adjourned and they all thanked each other for their cooperation and involvement.
The following day, our heroes called the council of Potter's Creek to inform them of the plans. Following the meeting, Mattias talked with his mother and tried to bury the hatchet. It is unclear as to if all hostilities have ended, but clearly they are on the road to forgiveness. The group then ventured into the bone hills to test out their new horn. Max blew it and in the distance a skeletal horse in aurachalcum barding bearing a skeletal warrior in aurachalcum full plate rode towards them. He told them that they are to blow the horn again, and that would rally the troops of the deathless to their call; however, he warned that the deathless are only on this plane from one sunup to the next sundown or vice versa. The group then scouted for a location to make their stand. Mattias scouted the area by using windwalk.
Next time on "as the dice roll"
Will this be it, will our brave heroes find the means to repel this orc horde bent on destroying all in their path? Will Goku's spiritbomb work?!
