Due to unforeseen circumstances in the far reaches of the cosmos involving the dread entity Tram-Po-Line, Bozcov the Wizard is unavailable to recap the last session. So, the omniscient being known as the Master of the Dungeon will be filling in.
That was the bestest D&D session I have ever run. It was the bestest D&D session I have ever been a part of. It may have been the bestest D&D session in the history of D&D. It. Was. Awesome!
Our Heroes had just defeated Karalena, one of the Three Witches, who was possessing the body of an innocent eladrin maiden. They had also just discovered a secret door, which they hoped would lead them into the treasure chamber where the Black Opal Eye hung tantalizingly out of reach, on the other side of an archway infused with epic transmutational magic.
The party decided Bozcov would keep an eye on the unconscious Karalena and the party's other mind-controlled eladrin prisoners while the rest of the party went through the secret door. The door led to a chamber with an apparently pointless dais, and a pair of doors that deed lead into the the chamber of the Black Opal Eye.
While Garrett, Shorty, and Balthazar tried to figure out a way to reach the Eye, Persephone, followed by Alistair, went traipsing off through another set of doors, apparently just because. The latter pair discovered another dais, which turned out to be a teleport platform.
Persephone and Alistair found themselves in a chamber with three alcoves, three dragon idols with glowing gems for eyes, and a dragon throne with a single black stone eye and an empty socket. They decided that this must be the chamber of the dragon idol to which the talking snake had told them the Eye must be taken to defeat the Three Witches. So they went exploring some more.
Meanwhile, back in the chamber of the Eye, Garret began a difficult ascent, attempting to scale the sheer wall of the chamber, in order to reach the ceiling and climb across it to reach the hanging Eye, while Shorty and Balthazar looked on in apprehension.
Persephone and Alistair explored some corridors, and found a crumbled hole in a wall, leading to an elemental-themed temple, and another of the Three Witches, Sorolena, and her fey panther companion. Combat ensued, as it always seemed to. It did not go well for Persephone and Alistair.
Meanwhile, Garret had managed the difficult feat of retrieving the eye, and he, Shorty, and Balthazar followed Persephone and Alistair through the teleport platform. They heard the sounds of battle, and rushed to the aid of their friends.
With the party now reunited, Alistair finished off the fey panther, and the combined might of the rest of the party made Sorolena's defeat all but inevitable.
The next part is when it got good.
