The BuccannerJust an idea on what the Buccanner might have looked like in his day. I gave him a utility belt because he reminded me of batman. Swashbucklin' Batman! Up Next- Megaton!!

Nifty designs. I can't see Megaton, though. And I don't think it's my monitor - I've looked at it on a couple of different monitors, and have adjusted the brightness on my current monitor - and I can tell there's a guy there, and kinda-sorta what he looks like, but it's just too dark. From my personal experience, you can get a clearer image doing a screen cap from the character builder rather than in the game environment. Just a friendly suggestion.
You guys are free to design your own costumes, of course. But the original idea I had was that you would use the suits you woke up in (with suitable customizations and modifications) as your costumes. They're made from bio-memetic material, so they adapt to your powers (so Citadel's costume is as invulnerable as he is, Wild Thing's morphs with her, Geyser's liquefies with him, etc.). Using (modified) versions of the lab suits would give your team a theme, and would make sense in-game (where else would college students get superhero outfits?).
BTW, I also love CoH Character Creator. I would pay money for it if it were available as a stand-alone utility. After looking at Derek's cool designs, I did a web search this morning, and found out something interesting (at least to me). NCSoft did release a stand-alone version, but only on their Korean language web-site, and in fairly short order they took that down. The web being what it is, it's still available on download sites, and you can fairly easily find info on how to convert it from Korean to English. Just google "City of Heroes Character Creator". The creator was actually put out a couple of years ago, and predates City of Villains, so it doesn't have any material from that release or later patches, but I just installed it, and it has more than I remember from the original CoH release, and it seems to work pretty well.

Any chance that we can use our costume designs out of the suits we woke up in? With some work down the line? I def like the idea of them being crafted to compliment our abilities. We'd all, realistically, end up naked or in tatters after a fight with just cloth to be sure!
Also, I see your point on Megaton. Guy in a dark costume in front of a dark skyline probably wasn't the best idea. I am thinking about posting up a "Rogues Gallery" of some generic villain ideas and appearances. I'll be sure to either take their shot in the creator screen or put them in enough lightning so that they'll be easy to make out.
