An idea for a campaign I've had since high school, but have never had a chance to implement, would be to take a squad of U.S. infantrymen and magically transport them to a fantasy world. They would have to learn to adapt and survive while trying to find a way back home, and, presumably, fight the good fight along the way.
They would have a massive technological advantage against any opponents, but their opponents would have magic and monsters. And they would have to carefully conserve their resources - once the last magazine of 5.56mm ammunition is gone, their M4A1 SOPMOD with RIS foregrip, AN/PEQ-4 laser system, M68 CCO reflex sight, and KAC sound suppressor becomes a fancy club.
M16s vs. magic! Claymore mines vs. claymore swords! DRAGON ATGMs vs. Dragons! How is that not cool?
I would probably use the Savage Worlds rules system, since it is both generic, allowing for modern tech alongside magic and dragons, and geared towards high action/adventure.

Out of all your cool ideas, I would most want to play this one. I know I probably won't play, but I wanted to let you know someone is reading this stuff.
