I have run a couple of one-shots for Colonial Marines (as in the guys from the movie Aliens). It'd be interesting to try to run a full campaign. See below for my last attempt at a rules set using the Savage Worlds rules: games.groups.yahoo.com/group/thegamegang/files/Colonial%20Marines/If I ran a full campaign, I'd definitely tweak the above rules a bit. For a campaign, I'd extrapolate from the movie and various "expanded universe" sources. The basic idea would be that what we saw in the movie is a typical Marine Force Recon squad, sent in to investigate and perform reconnaissance in potentially hostile situations. That would be the characters (using Savage Worlds' Extras/Followers rules to fill out the squad with redshirts). The campaign would be mainly a series of missions, involving colonial rebellions, skirmishes against other spacefaring powers, corrupt corporations, and, of course, the occasional alien weirdness. Well, probably quite a bit of alien weirdness, in what are supposed to be missions involving colonial rebellions, skirmishes against other spacefaring powers, and corrupt corporations.
