Dave,
So I'm looking at the character generation for this campaign and I have a few questions/ideas based on the character.
Super Dexterity - This will affect his to hit and his dodge?
Gunsmith - This will affect damage. Can this go beyond 7 since it is just an ability? If not, then can we rework it, because 7 damage capped, is rather low.
Do I need to feat each weapon I make as well as each bullet type I have?
Also, if I take heightened senses (vision) does that just affect the distance I can see? If I feat nightvision off of that ability, is it at 4 less or is it a maneuver?

Dave, So I'm looking at the character generation for this campaign and I have a few questions/ideas based on the character. Super Dexterity - This will affect his to hit and his dodge? Just "to hit" - which is freaking powerful. Gunsmith is an ability, so it is capped at 7. Sorry. But with a 15 Attack Rank, you'll be getting +3 Attack Results on most attacks, which would give you effectively 10 Damage Rank, and you will rarely miss. You will be mowing down opponents with low Resistance, but you may have to settle for being a distraction or getting really inventive against characters with high Resistance. So, it's not D&D 4E - different characters are really different. If you want the weapons to do something different, yes. Otherwise, no. For example, as a Feat, you could build a Sniper Rifle - if you spend one Action Card to aim, you get a +4 Rank bonus to your Attack Rank and to your effective Range. But you could have a pistol, rifle, and shotgun for special effects without Feats if they are all identical in terms of game mechanics. Yes Nightvision would be a Maneuver Feat. Thermal Vision, for example, would be a Spin-Off (-4 Ranks).

Nightvision would be a Maneuver Feat. Thermal Vision, for example, would be a Spin-Off (-4 Ranks). I know I'm not giving you much time to review, or even see this post, but I have to say that I am curious as to the difference. I know I'm not clear on the difference between what classifies as a maneuver feat versus spin-off feat, which isn't helping my confusion, but it seems that they should be somewhat related since they are just different kinds of vision. I mean, my guess is that since nightvision is "technically" just an amplification of normal sight, versus thermal/infrared/etc being completely different spectrums, that is the cause for the difference. Am I on the right track with that thinking?
