Well, I think reasoning or brokering a deal with the magus should be out of the question, as all we'd be doing is setting ourselves up for betrayal, plus our friend the unspoken paladin should be completely against allying with evil. My character can tell you that the thornwood druids were placed there in order to protect said evil artifact and all we'd likely succeed in is making more enemies, even closer to home. Flushing the undead into the path of the horde seems like a good idea in theory, but again I think we'd run into morality issues in the party and we can't count on Valen's grudge against you guys not to hold out and he try to kill us instead. Diplomacy with the horde would just be ludacris. So unless Telos sheads some light on some other alternative, I think Steve is right....an army for an army.

Ex-Paladin.
Do we know the Orb of Night is an EVIL artifact? It may be, but I never knew that.

well, i cant really see any way to stop an orc horde without some form of miracle. The only thing that i can honestly say i care about is the welfare of those that are in path of the horde. I mean, we dont even know what this object is or what it does. All that Dave said was that we should investigate it. Hell, it may be something that turns day into night, in which case, it might not help us in this situation. I understand what you are saying Mr. PG (power game), and that we dont need to create enemies that are close to home. Stopping an orc horde seems neigh impossible though, as it has been pointed out that they are basically an angry mob, no direction and no single leader to lead them.
Do i think that allying themselves with an evil force is remotely a good idea? No. Allying ourselves with the magus will, as always, make us in his debt, and that just bodes very bad for us.

I'm back to the divide our assets idea. One group investigates artifacts, Library etc. The other raises an army of followers, towns folk, Lizard Folk, Aes Garethon, Magus, whatever can be enlisted.
Unless we commit to one of these two overall concepts. Whatever the details may be.
